Excellence on the Prairies: 2008 Prairie Design Awards

The Prairie Design Awards for Architecture and Interior Design is a tri-provincial initiative organized by the Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta Associations of Architects. This year's event was hosted and organized by The Manitoba Association of Architects. Fifty-seven submissions were received into the program in four categories: Recent Work, Interior Design, Small Projects and Student Work. Jurors from across Canada expressed their appreciation of the quality of work submitted. Awards of Excellence and Merit were presented in all categories.

Eligibility

Projects must be located in Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba to be eligible. Other than category 4, Unbuilt work submitted will NOT be adjudicated. Unbuilt work denotes work that is of a theoretical or conceptual nature that is not built or work for a client that has not yet reached the final stages of construction.

Architectural Submissions must be designed by Registered Members of the AAA, SAA and MAA.

Interior Design Submissions will be accepted according to the following criteria: Submissions must be designed by Registered Members of The AAA (Architects and Licensed Interior Designers), SAA, MAA, or registered or professional interior designers with the Interior Designers of Alberta (IDA), the Interior Designers Association of Saskatchewan (IDAS) or the Professional Interior Design Institute of Manitoba (PIDIM).

Small Projects Submissions must be designed by Members of the AAA, SAA or MAA. (Including registered members, intern members or student members).

Student work must be designed by Student or former Student Members of the AAA, SAA or MAA.

Submissions

  1. Recent Work
    An open Architectural Category. Submissions of all scopes of architectural built work completed in the last 5 years and not previously submitted for a Prairie Design Award can be submitted.
  2. Interior Design
    An open Interior Design Category. Submissions of all scopes of interior built work completed in the last 5 years and not previously submitted for a Prairie Design Award can be submitted.
  3. Small Projects
    An open Design Category. Submissions of all scopes of work completed in the last 5 years and not previously submitted for a Prairie Design Award can be submitted.
  4. Student Work
    An open Design Category. Submissions of all scopes of University work completed in the last 5 years and not previously submitted for a Prairie Design Award can be submitted.
