The Architect Registration Examination (ARE) is developed jointly by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards
(NCARB) and the Committee of Canadian Architectural Councils (CCAC). The intent of the
ARE is to evaluate a
candidate's competence to provide architectural services.
The ARE is administered exclusively on computers at a network of test centres across the United States and Canada.
In Manitoba, you must be an Intern
Member of the MAA to be eligible to sit for
the ARE.
Study materials for the ARE
are available from the MAA office.
Free tutorial software (the ARE
Practice Program) is available
on the NCARB website.
