Landmarks, Monuments & Built Heritage of the West
A major component of community life is the landmarks, monuments and built heritage within that community. Canadian historians have often claimed that the physical and geographical heritage of Canadians has played a key role in the development of our identity as a nation.

Hosted by The University of Manitoba Association of Architecture Students (UMAAS) and the Internship in Architecture committee, the 10x20x20 event is intended to bring the local design community into one space to discuss ideas, projects and design in a social setting.

2008 Prairie Design Awards
Excellence on the Prairies: 2008 Prairie Design Awards The Prairie Design Awards for Architecture and Interior Design is a tri-provincial initiative organized by the Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta Associations of Architects. This year's event was hosted and organized by The Manitoba Association of Architects. Fifty-seven submissions were received into the program in four categories: Recent Work, Interior Design, Small Projects and Student Work. Jurors from across Canada expressed their appreciation of the quality of work submitted. Awards of Excellence and Merit were presented in all categories. The winning and Manitoba entries will be on display at the following locations: -August 5 to August 25- Winnipeg Construction Association -August 25 to August 31 - The Forks Market -September 2 to September 26 - Millennium Library -October 10 to October 19 - Pantages Playhouse Theatre
2006 Masonry Design Awards
The Manitoba Masonry Institute once again conducted the Manitoba Masonry Design Awards Program, aimed at honoring the achievements of Canadian Architects registered in the Province of Manitoba for their imaginative and creative use of masonry in construction.
