College of Paramedics of Manitoba

The College of Paramedics of Manitoba is seeking public members to apply to join our Finance, Audit and Risk Committee as well as our Complaints Investigation Committee and Inquiry Committee.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee is a committee of Council that provides financial review and oversight on behalf of the Transitional Council of the College of Paramedics of Manitoba. The meetings are Chaired by the Treasurer. Meetings are held quarterly.

Complaints Investigation Committee
The Complaints Investigation Committee is responsible for reviewing reports related to an investigation and when the panel considers it appropriate, attempting to resolve them informally. It is a requirement that the committee be comprised of at least 1/3 members of the public. Members of the committee sit in panels of three, to receive the report of the investigation and make a disposition recommendation. The entire committee meets at least once per year to support quality initiatives of the committee.

Inquiry Committee
The Inquiry Committee is responsible for holding hearings on matters referred to it by the Complaints Investigation Committee and making disciplinary decisions about the conduct of investigated registrants. It is a requirement that the committee be comprised of at least 1/3 members of the public. Members of the committee serve in panels of three for a discipline hearing and jointly contribute to the writing of the notice of decision. The committee may also meet annually to participate in quality improvement initiatives.
