THE PROJECT

Canada House has been Canada’s diplomatic mission in the United Kingdom since 1925. Using historic images and found architectural elements, original details were preserved or recreated. Contemporary workstations, tea points and quiet rooms, meeting areas and ceremonial rooms are dispersed throughout.  The building houses unique Canadian sourced materials, furniture, and art work. Canada House celebrates design and manufacturing which is represented through the cultural diversity and geographic uniqueness of Canada.

JURY COMMENTS

Canada House is an exceptionally beautiful project. The interiors feel contemporary through the use of wood, contemporary Canadian lighting, furnishings and art. The overall effect of this renovation extends the conversation between ‘old and new’ design. It is a masterful merger of past, present, and future ambitions.
