THE PROJECT
Popple uses colorful curtains that mimic the sounds and imagery of the trembling aspen on the existing site. Five vertical planes of multi-colored discs dance in the wind, creating a foreground and background that highlights the qualities of the surrounding trees. Popple invites people to create new experiences with the forest and the trembling aspen.
JURY COMMENTS
Popple is elegant and engaging. The simplicity of its design is almost as remarkable as the experience that it gives visitors. The curtains enhance the environmental experience subtly yet powerfully, increasing the ephemeral qualities of the surrounding forest.
