About the MAA

Ensuring High Standards in Architecture Across Manitoba

The Manitoba Association of Architects (MAA) is the professional organization that oversees architects in Manitoba. It's authorized by the Province of Manitoba under The Architects Act to make sure architecture is practiced safely, responsibly, and in the public's best interest.

In simple terms, the MAA helps protect the public while supporting a strong and trusted architectural profession. It works closely with architects and other partners to set clear requirements for becoming an architect and to ensure high standards are maintained throughout an architect's career.

Architects who are members of the MAA are expected to follow a strict Code of Ethics and professional standards. The MAA was also one of the first organizations in Canada to require ongoing professional learning, helping architects stay current, knowledgeable, and accountable.
